The Blackness of Darkness Forever

I was trying to find a way to represent this song from months, but I never had the chance to do it, so this is the result of what I wanted to do from a long time. I felt really inspired by Portishead’ song “Wandering Star”, and in general by the warm, deep and dark sounds of this great band.

In the lyrics there are several symbolic concepts connected to death, solitude and fear. The song redefines a lot of life meaning elements as the grief, the dream and the anxiety connected to them.

I wanted to create a monster made of stars (as the lyrics say - And the masks, that the monsters wear/To feed, upon their prey”). The fact that the monster is smiling is because is feeding himself with the hopes that you are slowly losing once your mind is poisoned by fear (And the time that I will suffer less/Is when I never have to wake).

I feel really close to this words and all the aspects of this song, melodies included. This song brings me back to a long nightmare that I started to have since I was 6 years old.
